How it works

  1. 1

    Snap your menu

Take a photo of the printed menu, choose its PDF, or paste the dishes from Word or Excel.

  2. 2

    Confirm the flagged prices

Anything the reader wasn't sure of, like a sticker over a price, waits for you to confirm it.

  3. 3

    Pick a style and print

Six styles, four formats. Print from your browser or save a PDF for the print shop.

No original file? No problem.

Many menus were made years ago by a designer, a print shop or a supplier, and nobody kept the file. Every price change since has been a sticker or a pen.

Menuworthy works from the printed menu itself. It reads the photo, keeps the dishes in your order and sections, and tells you which prices it couldn't read for sure, such as a handwritten sticker. Once you've confirmed those, you have an editable menu again.

Photo tips

  • Lay the menu flat and shoot straight down, filling the frame.
  • Glare on lamination is fine, but avoid covering text with your thumb.
  • Photograph each page. Up to 4 photos, or upload a PDF instead.
  • Check the flagged prices first. Those are the ones most likely to be wrong.

Questions

What if part of the menu is handwritten?

The reader copies what it can read and flags anything it isn't sure of. You confirm those before moving on, so a guessed price never reaches the printed menu.

Does it work on menus in other languages?

It reads menus in English and Japanese best, and prints in English, Japanese or both. For a Japanese menu you can add English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese or Korean under the Japanese. Prices in any currency are kept as written.

What does it cost?

Making and previewing your menu is free, with no account. To print without the watermark, a restaurant pass is $29 (¥3,980 including tax for yen menus) for a year, for every menu, board and poster that restaurant makes.

Will my prices change?

No. Prices are copied as written and set in type, not drawn. Any price the reader isn't sure of is flagged for you to confirm first.
